USCIS announced on March 30th this year that it received more than 300,000 H-1B registrations for 85,000 H-1B positions. From these statistics it is obvious that the majority of these applications are rejected. But instead of waiting another year to apply, here are some alternatives to the H-1B visa:
• Cap exempt H-1B – if you work with universities/colleges, affiliated non-profits or government research organizations
• F-1 or J-1 or H-3 visas – if you are a student or trainee
• O-1 visa – if you are a highly accomplished professional in your field of expertise
