Cherry amber is one of the different variations of Baltic amber. It got its name in connection with the bewitching dark red color that it has acquired over millions of years. Natural cherry amber was formed over 90 million years ago and is very rare and highly valued.
Cherry amber was highly treasured in the ancient world thousands of years ago by the Romans Celts and Greeks for its healing properties. It is believed that cherry amber enhances the well-being of our body, mind and spirit, and has the ability to improve oxygen and blood circulation.
We use Baltic cherry amber that’s been aged for 90 million years. It is mined at a depth of up to 400 meters below the surface, where it comes in contact with warm rocks and reddish clay. Dark cherry color is only on the surface of the stone, about 1-2 mm deei. Inside, the stone is lemon-colored, the original color of the resin, which gives a very beautiful glow.
